In recent years,in line with the strategy of empowering the country with culture and fulfilling the public’s demand for spiritual culture,mainstream media have attached great importance to the contemporary dissemination of traditional culture.Numerous cultural variety shows have emerged with traditional culture as their content.The proliferation of this genre of programs has contributed to the current " National Fever" in society,especially among young people,and further enhanced people’s confidence in national culture and national community identity.Meanwhile,domestic cultural variety shows started to explore diversified paths of traditional culture dissemination,forming a vertical segment of domestic cultural variety shows-"national style+music" type of cultural variety shows.The fact that such programs have received a lot of praise since they were broadcast shows that the mainstream media’s attention to the sound medium has expanded the dissemination path of traditional culture in contemporary times and has achieved initial success,which has high research value.As current research on cultural shows in China mainly focuses on visual culture,and to a certain extent neglects the sound aspect of the programs,therefore,this paper investigates the construction of national culture in the "National Style+Music" cultural variety show from the perspective of sound communication.Based on this,this study selects three series of "Classics in the Classics","The Greatest Hits" and "The Most Beautiful Axis" as the specific research objects.In the light of the theories of nationalism and sound culture,we analyze the specific paths of traditional culture sound communication constructed by these programs in three aspects:the choice of media form of national music,the national cultural representation of sound symbols and the nationalized presentation of sound stage interpretation.It aims to explore the new value of traditional culture sound communication for the construction of national cultural identity of audiences.The first chapter of this paper discusses how the program produces national music that connects traditional culture,and then expands the meaning of the program’s sound and the path of traditional culture’s sound transmission.The dissemination form of national music not only bridges the distance between traditional culture and modern life by using the sensuality and openness of human auditory senses,but also breaks through the "sound worship" dilemma of domestic variety shows in producing pop music,reshapes people’s auditory aesthetics,and establishes the national tone of sound in terms of style.Chapter 2 analyzes the specific representation of sound cultural symbols from the perspective of sound content,and discusses how to accomplish the ideological summoning of nationality from two dimensions:"new sense of time" and"new sense of space".On the one hand,the program evokes cultural memory by selecting representative national cultures such as Chinese poetry,national musical instruments and ancient architecture;on the other hand,it constructs the identity and continuity of national history from the dimension of chronology;besides,it clarifies the psychological boundaries of national space and territory through local voices,border voices and other voices.The third chapter analyzes the innovative expression of ethnic culture from the perspective of the viewability of sound.That is,from the perspective of music performance practice,and uses the audience’s most familiar visual experience to assist in understanding the ethnic emotions conveyed by the music performance from three aspects:story presentation,stage construction and physical exhibition,to complete the further construction of ethnic cultural identity.This study analyzes the texts of the vertically segmented "national style+music" programs in cultural variety shows from the perspective of sound communication,and finds that the use of national style music as a medium to re-listen to traditional culture fully exploits the advantages of popular culture in influencing audiences hearing,and finds a suitable way of sound communication for traditional culture.While The program has enriched,nationalized and modernized the poetry,folk instruments and ancient architecture respectively to create national style music.While these national representative sound symbols complete the representation of the community from time and space dimensions,they also increase the viewability of sound through stage interpretation,reconstructing the meaning of traditional culture in contemporary times by combining audio-visual.
