Wu Zengjie(1906-2005)is a famous educator and psychologist in China.He devoted his whole life to the research in the field of primary school education psychology.His research spanned from the Republic of China to the 1980s and 1990s.This paper uses the method of literature research and historical analysis to analyze the relationship between Wu Zengjie s thoughts and the educational policy at that time under the same background from a horizontal perspective,as well as the similarities and differences between Wu Zengjie and other educators and psychologists.From a longitudinal perspective,compare the differences and similarities of Wu Zengjie s educational psychological thoughts in different periods,especially in the field of primary school education,in order to comprehensively elaborate Wu Zengjie s achievements in the field of primary school education psychology.At the same time,starting from Wu Zengjie,we can also better understand the psychological development of primary school education in Chinese history.This thesis is mainly composed of seven parts:The first part is the research background,literature review,research purpose,methods,and related concept definition.The second part introduces Wu Zengjies life in chronological order;The third part introduces the relevant translations and introductions of various subjects psychology works in primary school during the Republic of China period,as well as Wu Zengjies thoughts of psychology on various subjects;The forth part analyzes his views on cultivating normal students based on different historical backgrounds;The fifth part elaborates on Wu Zengjies thoughts on primary school students mental health and individual differences as well as intellectual and non-intellectual factors;The sixth part briefly explores the changes in Wu Zengjies psychological thoughts during different periods of his academic career,as well as the similarities and differences between his views and those of other psychologists in this field;The seventh part evaluates Wu Zengjies school educational psychological thoug hts based on primary school from both academic characteristics and contributions,and analyzes the shortcomings of this study.Wu Zengjie s ideological characteristics can be summarized in the following two aspects:(1)integrating theory with practice.He has always paid attention to the cultivation of practical ability and advocated the cultivation of students ability to use psychological knowledge in practice,which has certain significance for us to understand the spread of foreign psychology in China in different periods and the application of psychology in Chinese primary and secondary education and teaching.(2)His thoughts conforms to the characteristics of different times.Wu Zengjie s educational psychology thoughts has spanned several different historical periods from the Republic of China to the reform and opening up.As an explorer and practitioner of modern education in China,he has made contributions to the psychological field of primary education.His thoughts is in line with the characteristics of the era at that time and have certain reference value for current education.
