Visual Narrative Research And Design Based On Pierce Semiotics Theory

In recent years,with the continuous development and popularization of visual media,research on visual narrative has received increasing attention,and more advanced visual narrative tools have also emerged,making the forms of visual narrative more diverse.Visual narrative design conveys information and emotions through visual elements,which can be introduced into teaching to help students better understand and remember knowledge points and stimulate their learning interest and creativity.At present,there are still some shortcomings in introducing visual narrative design research and design into teaching,such as the rigid combination of online videos and teaching content,and the lack of targeted design for knowledge content;Design cannot fully and deeply express abstract knowledge systems;The visual presentation is too superficial,mostly only completing the "translation" and "beautification" of textual knowledge,and so on.To solve these problems,this paper introduces the structure and methodology of Pierce’s ternary semiotics into the design of visual narrative,explores the structure and significance of visual expression of information,summarizes the structural framework and design principles of semiotics guiding the design of visual narrative elements,uses "metonymy" to visually reprocess text knowledge,and integrates the "two-way focus" method into the representation design of visual narrative elements,Combining dynamic and interactive visual narrative presentation forms to achieve understanding oriented visual narrative expression design.The final practical part of the research focuses on the theoretical knowledge of color composition for design.By conducting in-depth interviews with target students,we aim to understand their fuzzy points in learning color composition knowledge,collect and analyze their inherent thinking on color understanding,and determine the narrative elements,including key color composition knowledge issues that need to be addressed in the narrative structure,specific narrative materials,and final narrative goals.Through deconstruction analysis of symbol structures,we extract the design ideas for narrative elements,according to the design principles and methods discussed earlier,complete the visual narrative transformation design of the color composition theory.
