A Study On Local Chronicles Of Mianyang From Qing Dynasty To The Republic Of China

Mianyang,which was gradually incorporated into the central administrative system since the Han Dynasty,has become one of the most important cities in Sichuan province today.It lies in the southeast of Shanxi and Gansu and locates to the north of Chengdu and Deyang,serving as the barrier of Sichuan in successive dynasties.The special geographical location was deeply valued by the rulers,and the literati and doctors of all dynasties also gathered here,which laid a deep humanistic foundation for the compilation of mianyang local Chronicles.From a few words about Mianzhou in Huayang Guozhi,the earliest local chronicle in Bashu region,to 34 records of government,state,county and local area that were systematically revised and preserved from the Period of The Republic of China to the Qing Dynasty.According to the large time span,regime change,ethnic differences and other factors,the local Chronicles from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China in Mianyang area have different thoughts,compilations,contents,functions and research values.At present,there are few studies on the compilation,collation and overall value evaluation of local Chronicles in Mianyang area.Aiming at this weak link,this paper focuses on the compilation of Mianyang old Chronicles in the Period of The Republic of China in the Qing Dynasty,and applies the relevant research methods of ethnology and folklore to sort out the historical context of the compilation of Mianyang old Chronicles.According to the special historical background of the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China,war disputes and sharp changes of political system in Mianyang from the perspective of history.From the perspective of philology,this paper evaluates the value of its old records.From the perspective of local Chronicles,this paper summarizes and analyzes the law of the number,type,style and content description of old Chronicles in Mianyang area,and hopes to generalize the local characteristics and times characteristics of the compilation and content value of old Chronicles in Mianyang area through comparative study.It is expected to provide some convenience for scholars studying local culture,local history and regional development history of Mianyang,and help mianyang to inherit,protect and explore local cultural resources.
