Chen Yan has lived and worked in a theater troupe for over thirty years,and is familiar with the ups and downs of the drama industry.He has a deep understanding of the life style of theater practitioners.Chen Yan transitioned from "The Story of Xijing" to novel creation,continuously publishing three long novels,"The Stage","The protagonist",and "Comedy",known as the "Stage Trilogy".Characters are the core lifeline of novels,and the literary community has paid attention to the unique aspects of Chen Yan’s portrayal of characters,with commentaries showing a thriving trend.As of now,there is no academic thesis that provides a comprehensive,systematic,and diverse analysis of the female images in Chen Yan’s works.In fact,Chen Yan’s portrayal of women embodies sincere emotions and deep sorrow,and female images can serve as a key link in the study of Chen Yan’s novels.Therefore,this paper takes the female images in Chen Yan’s novel "Stage Trilogy" as the research object.On the basis of careful reading of the works,using methods such as text reading,literature research,and theoretical interpretation,it sorts out and discusses the rich and colorful female images in Chen Yan’s works,hoping to make a valuable academic discussion on the female images in Chen Yan’s works.The full text is divided into the following 5 parts:The introduction section includes the background,significance,research review,and research ideas of the topic.The first part categorizes the female images in Chen Yan’s novels based on the commonalities or differences between character qualities and traditional culture.Specifically,they are the guides of the embodiment of "divinity",the carriers of traditional beauty,and the lost pursuers of fame and fortune.The second part is Chen Yan’s artistic techniques for shaping female images.Chen Yan was deeply influenced by classical literature and dramatic art.In his works,he skillfully and appropriately used artistic techniques such as contrast,imagery,dreams,and "incorporating drama into the text" to shape female images,and matched artistic techniques with ideological connotations,thereby enhancing the aesthetic realm of the novel.The third part discusses the value and inspiration of Chen Yan’s female image creation,from the perspectives of mutual reference and supplementation between female and male images,conveying the theme and meaning of shaping female images,and discussing the male writers’ writing of female images from three dimensions.It also explores Chen Yan’s female image creation techniques and creative attitudes,which provide reference and inspiration for gender writing.In the conclusion section,firstly,a comparison is made between the female images portrayed by Chen Yan and Shaanxi female writer Wu Wenli,exploring the impact of gender and cultural background differences within the same geographical region on the writers’ portrayal of female images.Secondly,the female images portrayed by Chen Yan will be examined in the context of the "shaping of female images" in the history of 20 th century Chinese literature,and the unique aesthetic value and practical significance of Chen Yan’s female images will be analyzed.Thirdly,analyze and discuss the flaws in Chen Yan’s portrayal of women,and hope that in the future,Chen Yan can break through limitations and create a female image that is closer to the true situation of women and better understands their spiritual difficulties. |
