Decorative language is not only an intuitive expression of public aesthetic pleasure,but also an inherent aesthetic demand for the spiritual needs of the public.From a creative perspective,the use of decorative language not only provides diverse forms of expression for black and white woodcut prints,but also greatly broadens the artist’s artistic vision and spatial imagination.How to find the internal connection between decorative forms and spiritual essence in artistic creation requires artists to brainstorm,explore,and research the use of different painting languages and forms of expression for creative practice and summary.Based on the above situation,this article takes the application of decorative language to the manifestation of black and white woodcut prints as the research topic.By utilizing the expressive techniques of planarity,subjectivity,symbolism,and order in decorative language,black and white woodcut prints are made more interesting,decorative,and thematic.Decorative language not only enriches the expressive forms of black and white woodcut prints,but also conveys the creator’s understanding of life and personal ideas through the expression of formal beauty.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the definition of decorative language and black and white woodcut prints,and expounds that decorative language has the characteristics of planarization,simplicity and abstraction;Black and white woodcut prints pursue generality,simplicity,planarity,decoration,expressiveness,and abstraction in form,indicating a certain correlation between the two,providing a theoretical basis and direction for future research content;The second chapter discusses the expressive characteristics of decorative language,including planarity,subjectivity,symbolism,and order,and explains the expression of its characteristics in conjunction with woodcut works;Chapter 3 analyzes the manifestation of decorative language in black and white woodcut prints.Exploring the decorative expression of black and white woodcut prints from four aspects: composition,shape,color,and texture,and using the artist’s black and white woodcut prints,deeply analyzing the connection between decorative language and spiritual essence in black and white woodcut prints;Chapter 4 discusses the exploration and practical application of decorative language in combination with the author’s black and white woodblock printmaking creation work "Fables".Decorative composition,decorative colors,and decorative shapes bring interesting and decorative meanings to the presentation of the images in the author’s creative works.Continuously reflect and summarize decorative language in the process of creative practice,and experience the unique artistic charm of decorative language in artistic creation. |
