The Warring States Policy is divided into thirty-three volumes and twelve national policies.Among them, the materials of place names and their annotations in past dynasties are important documents for studying the history and geography of the Warring States Period. In this paper,Yao’s book,a co py of Huangpi Martyrs’ Residence in the 19 th year of Jiaqing,Qing Dynasty,is taken as the base, and the place names found in unearthed documents in Warring States Policy are taken as the research object, and the old notes of place names in Warring States Policy are collected and verified with unearthed written materials. The geographical names of the Warring States Policy are mostly found in the historical documents handed down from ancient times, such as Geography of Hanshu and Notes on Shuijing.Ancient scholars such as Gao You,Bao Biao,Wu Shidao,Yao Hong,Yu Cheng,Zhang Qi and Cheng Enze have made detailed and comprehensive textual research and discussion on them. The unearthed documents that are verified with the handed down documents are mainly br onzes, weapons, seals, clay seals, bamboo slips and silks,Wen Tao,etc.During the Warring States period, and some place names are based on bamboo slips and silks of Qin and Han Dynasties.By combining the achievements of ancient philology, historical geography and archaeology in the study of unearthed documents and materials in the Warring States with the old place names annotations and handed down documents,we can not only determine the ownership and evolution of the place names in the Warring States pe riod, but also correct the errors in the circulation of the place names in the Warring States Policy and make up for the shortcomings of ancient people’s research. This paper is divided into two parts. The first part is the introduction, which briefly describes the research status of geographical names in the Warring States Policy, the research methods used in this paper, and the research purpose and significance of this paper. The second part is the combination of place names and unearthed documents in the Warring States Policy. The second part includes eight chapters of humanistic place names and one chapter of natural place names, including more than 100 place names. The number of humanistic place names included in this paper is mostly more than 90,inclu ding regional names, county names and so on,and a small number of Tianjin customs names. The local names are divided into eight chapters according to the countries to which they belong in the "Policy" text:two weeks of place names are one chapter;A chap ter on the place names of Qin,Qi,Chu,Zhao,Wei and Han;The place names of Yan,Song Wei and Zhongshan are combined into one chapter because of the small number. The chapters are sorted according to the country order of the Warring States Policy.More than a dozen natural place names, regardless of country, are independent as a chapter and placed at the end. When interpreting the place names of the Warring States Policy, the place names are taken as the prefix, and the examples of the words of the Warring States Policy are listed first under the nouns of various places, and then the place names are interpreted. When the land is released, the old notes of handed down documents are cited to verify with unearthed documents. This paper will also list some con troversial issues related to the place names in the Warring States Policy,so that readers can form a more complete understanding of the place names in the Warring States Policy.Pictures of unearthed documents used in the certificate are attached at the end of each chapter. At the end of the article,an index of place names is attached for readers’ reference.
