| The renewal and development process of the metropolitan fringe leads to the change of physical space and social space, which affects the neighborhoods and daily life of residents.Different resettlement patterns in urban renewal will bring corresponding neighborhood changes, and then have differentiated impacts on subjective well-being of residents. As the self-evaluation of quality of life, subjective well-being is the important representation of the impact of urban renewal on individuals. Therefore, based on the orientation of people-oriented goal of new urbanization,it is necessary to pay attention to the subjective well-being of residents under different resettlement patterns.Taking the in-situ resettlement neighborhood(reserved villages within the university town)and the relocated resettlement neighborhood(Guwei New Village)of “Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center” project as the case, the research focuses on the subjective well-being of residents and its influencing mechanism under the two different resettlement patterns through methods of field observation, questionnaire survey, interview and statistical analysis. The findings are as follows:(1)In general, influenced by the “Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center” project, there were obvious neighborhood changes in both the in-situ resettlement neighborhood and the relocated one, which were embodied in the three dimensions of human, environment and human-environment relationship, and brought about the difference of subjective well-being level of residents and its formation mechanism.(2)The subjective well-being of residents under different resettlement patterns showed significant difference.Compared with the relocated one,the level of life satisfaction and positive emotions of residents in in-situ resettlement neighborhood was lower while the level of negative emotions was higher, and the group differences within the in-situ resettlement neighborhood were more obvious. The difference of subjective well-being between local residents and non-local residents in the two neighborhoods is almost the same.In addition, there were significant correlations among the status of satisfaction with life, positive emotions and negative emotions.(3)The subjective well-being of residents in the two neighborhoods was the result of the comprehensive influence of various factors of neighborhood changes. In the dimension of "human",gender, age, household registration status, annual household income, housing ownership and quantity, and subjective social status had significant impact on subjective well-being.In the dimension of "environment",sound physical environment(external physical environment and housing conditions)and social environment(neighborhood relationship, community participation, social network)of neighborhood could help improve the level of subjective well-being.In the dimension of "human-environment relationship",higher level of emotional identity of city had positive effect on subjective well-being.However,due to the difference of neighborhood changes, the influence degree and direction of factors had heterogeneous performances under different resettlement patterns.(4)Comparative perspective and mediating effects were of great significance for understanding the formation process of subjective well-being of residents. In the two case neighborhoods, social comparison played an important role in the formation of subjective well-being of residents.Neighborhood relationship and emotional identity of city constructed the chain mediation mechanism in the process of external physical environment influencing the subjective well-being in the in-situ resettlement neighborhood, while there was only the single mediating effect of the neighborhood relationship in the relocated resettlement neighborhood.(5)Based on the above findings, the research further puts forward some suggestions, including prudently selecting appropriate resettlement patterns, attaching importance to the construction of environment of resettlement neighborhoods and strengthening humanistic care in the neighborhood. |
