The Representation Of Coherence Of Target Language In E-C Translation Of Popular Science Texts

In the fast-moving digital age,online learning has gradually become a new development trend,and how to conduct efficient online learning tends to be a research boom of efficient online learning.This report is based on the translation of The Guide to Online Learning,which aims to help people make study plans,give advice on strategies and ways for online learning.It is a popular science text which belongs to scientific texts,and the whole text is objective,concise,logical and well structured.Therefore,how to reconstruct the text and represent coherence and readability on the basis of accurately conveying the information is focused on in this report.According to related theories of textual cohesion and coherence,the report discusses the representation of coherence in two aspects.At the syntactic level,it talks about the difficulty of complex sentence logic and multiple modifiers,so methods of adding or changing cohesive words,and adjusting attributives or adverbials are adopted.At the textual level,discourse coherence is constructed from perspectives of space-time coherence,stylistic coherence and logical coherence,and coherence is improved by changing pronouns or perspectives,unifying stylistic style or formal arrangement,and supplementing or restructuring information.Thus,the coherence of the translation can be improved.The report tends to prove that there is significance for the representation of coherence in popular science text translation according to theories of cohesion and coherence.At the same time,the experience can also provide reference for such translation practice in future.
