International Chinese Language Education has the fundamental aim of developing communicative competence,and it focuses on enhancing learners’ skills in listening,speaking,reading and writing.The exchange of information in communicative activities is mainly achieved through oral expression,therefore,the cultivation of Chinese oral skills plays an important role in International Chinese Language Education.Therefore,studying the current state of research on Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education and grasping its development trend can not only effectively improve the communicative competence of Chinese learners,but also enhance the international communication of Chinese language and culture.CiteSpace software is an emerging research tool that visualises textual data information of literature by mapping scientific knowledge,thus enabling analysis and sorting out the research hotspots,frontier themes and their evolutionary trends in the field.This thesis combines the CiteSpace software with Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education to analyse Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education research from 2000-2021 in the CNKI database to summarise the current situation,research hotspots,frontier themes and development trends of the feild over the past 20 years since the new century,in order to provide useful suggestions for Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education in the future.The introductory part of this thesis introduces the background of the topic,significance,purpose,research methods,theoretical bases,data sources,and the literature review.The first to fourth parts take the literature related to Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education research in the database of CNKI from 2000 to 2021 as the research object,and use the bibliometric method and CiteSpace software to create visual maps of the literature from 2000 to 2021 to analyse the number of literatures,journal distribution,cooperation among authors,research hot topics and cutting-edge themes,in order to identify the characteristics and development status of the research on Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education,gain insight into new trends and developments,and provide an academic basis for research in this field.The fifth section proposes recommendations for the research on Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education with respect to the findings.The concluding section describes the innovations and shortcomings of this thesis and summarises the findings of the research on Oral Language Teaching in International Chinese Language Education from 2000-2021: the research is divided into three phases,with an overall upward trend in the number of publications and the literature spread over 275 journals;there are 245 publishers,mainly higher education institutions,which are scattered and do not cooperate closely;there is a lack of cooperation between the 527 authors and a small number of core authors.
