A Report On The Simulated Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting Of The Interview Of Hi! China:Special Programmes Of 2021 WRC

This report uses the Interview of Hi! China: Special Programmes of2021 WRC as the corpus for the simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.The interview program has three episodes.The speakers deliver fast speeches in a colloquial way and sometimes the sentences are lack of logic.These characteristics undoubtedly bring some difficulties and challenges to the interpreter’s interpretation practice.Therefore,the interpreter takes the interpreted texts of these three interview programs as materials and adopts Gile’s Effort Model to discuss the guiding effect of this model on post-interpretation evaluation.This report first introduces the background,the significance of this interpretation practice and the structure of the report.Then it describes the main body of the report,including five parts,namely the description of the interpreting task,the description of the interpreting process,the theoretical foundation of the interpreting,the analysis of interpreting cases and the summary and enlightenment of interpreting practice.Among them,the analysis of interpreting cases is the key part of this report.The interpreter divides this part into analyzing the interpreting cases from listening and analysis,short-term memory and language production,reviewing the interpretation errors caused by energy imbalance and analyzing the coping strategies.Through this practice,the interpreter has a better understanding of cognitive load and energy distribution in the consecutive interpretation,and it can be used as a reference for targeted interpreting practice in the daily study.Only in this way can the interpreter constantly improve the interpreting quality so as to better adjust the energy distribution during interpretation.
