| As an effective way of propaganda during the Anti-Japanese War,woodcut prints were outstanding because of their characteristics of being easy to make,easy to carry,obvious contrast between black and white and giving people a strong contrast.Woodcut prints of various themes and different regions played a great role in propaganda and Anti-Japanese War during this period.In order to make Chinese people know and understand printmaking,an art form introduced from the West,many related activities have been carried out by printmakers to penetrate into various regions.Jiangxi has also actively responded to the national needs and conducted a series of printmaking publicity activities.At the same time,it also promoted the further development of "wood transport" in Jiangxi,and produced a large number of excellent woodcut and printmakers.They organized woodcut exhibitions,established free platforms for theoretical exchange of printmaking,and set up printmaking training courses,which played an important role in the propaganda of the Anti-Japanese War.But because historical records are difficult to collect,their value has not been discovered.Therefore,this paper observes woodcut prints in this period(mainly from 1935 to 1945)from a historical point of view,aiming to investigate the spiritual power of artists in Jiangxi and the status of woodcut prints as the main propaganda tools during the Anti-Japanese War,rather than the unique artistic value of prints themselves.Their work became a powerful propaganda tool in the early and mid-20 th century.Through sorting out historical materials,it can be seen that many printmakers had left footprints from the beginning to the end of the Anti-Japanese War,but there was no systematic background analysis and detailed research on their works.Therefore,this paper will take the appearance of a special art issue in Jiangxi Republic of China Daily as the main line,supplemented by printmaking works in other newspapers and periodicals as the base point to explore.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part mainly introduces the influence of the emerging woodcut prints provided by Lu Xun on the young people in Jiangxi,as well as the woodcut exhibitions and related newspapers and magazines held by woodcut enthusiasts in Jiangxi.The second part mainly lists the woodcuts of different themes and positions in Jiangxi during the Anti-Japanese War,and analyzes their intrinsic meaning and propaganda significance,as well as the relationship between the form of cartoon and woodcuts.The third part expounds the great significance of the production of woodcut prints based on the realistic creation idea of Jiangxi printmaking group.It is conducive to people’s understanding and understanding of the propaganda of Anti-Japanese War culture prints in Jiangxi area,so as to prove the history of Anti-Japanese War art. |
