| Normal education for women occupies a unique position in the history of education in China.During the Republican period,women’s normal education gradually emerged with the rapid spread of women’s education ideas and the promotion of education policies.However,during this period,the development of normal education for women was slow due to the merger movement between normal school and middle schools in Jiangxi Province.The establishment of Jiujiang Jiangxi Provincial Women’s Normal School,as the first batch of separate women’s normal schools established after the merger movement between normal school and middle schools,is of great significance for women’s normal education in Jiangxi.This paper takes Jiangxi Jiujiang Women’s Normal School from 1933 to 1949,the period of the Republic of China,as the research object,to sort out and analyze the development process,organization and management,education and teaching of Jiangxi Jiujiang Women’s Normal School during this period,and on the basis of research,summarize its impact on education in Jiujiang and even Jiangxi Province,and provide reference for the development of current normal education.This article is divided into five parts.The first part mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic and the significance of research,and examines the current status of research on women’s normal education.The second part introduces the development of Jiujiang Women’s Normal School in Jiangxi Province and analyses the specific background of this school.The development of women teachers can be divided into three stages: the initial establishment period of women teachers before the War of Resistance Against Japan(1933-1936),the difficult development period of women teachers during the war of Resistance Against Japan(1937-1945),and the reconstruction period after the War of Resistance Against Japan(1945-1949).The third part analyses the organization and management of Jiangxi Jiujiang Women’s Normal School.Mainly from the school administration,teacher management and student management of three aspects of analysis and discussion.The fourth part explains the educational and teaching situation of Jiujiang Women’s Normal School.This paper explains the changes in curriculum setting during the establishment of Jiujiang Women’s Normal School.School and the ideological and political education and physical health education emphasized by this school.The fifth part,by analyzing the whereabouts of the graduates of Jiujiang Women’s Normal School in Jiangxi Province,local education work and social education work,this paper explores the promotion of the cause of women’s liberation by Jiujiang Women’s Normal School at that time and its impact on the educational development of Jiangxi and even surrounding areas,which can provide some reference for the development of normal education today. |
