| Modern contemporary oil painting art is no longer confined to depicting the reality of objective objects;painters add their own subjective emotions to the process of creation,gradually forming a personalised artistic language.From an aesthetic point of view,oil painting is a display of human talent and will;a self-development and self-expression of emotion;a reflection of the pursuit of truth,goodness and beauty;a reflection of human ideals and emotions.The formal language features of still life oil painting expressed in this article,whether figurative,representational or abstract,are the bridge between the artist’s thoughts and emotions and the concrete expression,and the means to achieve the final visual effect of the work They are also the means to achieve the final visual effect of the work.The emergence of Impressionism from the 1860 s to the 1970 s opened up a whole new artistic path for the development of modern contemporary oil painting,while the Post-Impressionist period with Van Gogh and Gauguin brought modern art to a climax.In this essay,we explore and analyse the basic features of the formal language in still life oil painting and discuss them in terms of the flatness of space,the simplicity of colour and the generality of shape.It is hoped that after in-depth study,the author will be able to use its unique artistic language to create oil paintings with his own style and to convey his own aesthetic awareness and inner emotions to a certain extent.This time,I chose still life flowers as the subject matter because the tranquillity of flowers can inspire the author’s creativity when viewing them.In the process of creation,the author incorporated his own artistic thoughts and emotions,and creatively used the formal language of shape,colour and composition to create a work with his own unique artistic language,which shows that the combination of the creator’s thoughts and emotions with the form plays a very important role in the final formation of a painting.The thesis is divided into four parts: the first part is the selection and realisation of the graduation work,analysing the background and significance of the research,the current state of research at home and abroad,and the implementation and presentation of the graduation work;the second part is a study of the formal language in the still life oil painting Searing Beauty,divided into a brief description of the formal language of modern contemporary oil painting and the basic features of the formal language of modern contemporary oil painting.The third part is the practice and application of the basic features of the formal language of modern contemporary oil painting in creation,as well as the inspiration of the formal language of modern contemporary oil painting to the creation of Searing Beauty.The final part of the thesis is intended to improve the author’s knowledge of painting and his own creative work. |
