Exploring The Use Of Derain’s Painting Language In The Oil Painting “Into The Sea Series”

The exploration and refinement of the language of painting is a lifelong subject for every painter.Through the theoretical study and practical exploration of the language of painting,it provides valuable reference for future art creation and study,a deeper understanding of artworks,and at the same time,valuable experience for further improvement of artistic cultivation and artistic creativity.André Derain is one of the famous Western painters that I have been following and studying during my studies.I was deeply impressed by his artistic style and the charm of his painting language.His oil paintings are passionate and exuberant,blending natural beauty with artistic beauty in a good way,and expressing his inner feelings with the power of colour and a sense of vividness of life.By analysing the language of painting in Derain’s works,this article returns to painting itself,gets close to life,incorporates personality and emotion into his works,enriches his creative practice and creates vivid and touching oil paintings.The first part of the article is the selection and realisation plan of the graduation design,which analyses the purpose,significance,content and method of the subject research as well as the creation dynamics of related topics in this field,and elaborates the graduation design plan;the second part examines the painting language in the picture composition,shape,colour and brushwork texture of Derain’s works,from which the characteristics of Derain’s oil painting style are explored,and the thoughts and emotions contained in Derain’s oil paintings are explained.In the third part,we explore the application of Derain’s painting language in his oil painting "Into the Sea Series",which mainly includes the conception of the creation of "Into the Sea Series",the treatment of shape,the treatment of colour,the pursuit of brushwork and the exploration of texture.In the practice,the aesthetic meaning of oil painting is further discovered and the theme of contemporary urban life is interpreted.The creation of oil paintings with their own unique aesthetic values and thoughts and emotions is the direction and goal of the author’s efforts.
