Innovation is the first driving force to lead the development of dulcimer art.In the new era,new dulcimer works with modern music style emerge in endlessly.Wang Se,a dulcimer performer,composer,and teacher of the Central Conservatory of Music,broke the traditional creative techniques and focused on the integration of China and the West,creating a series of popular modern dulcimer works.The music language of his works not only attaches importance to the use of modern music elements,but also conforms to the aesthetic needs of the public for the dulcimer.Among Wang Se’s many modern dulcimer works,the creation of "Up in the Cloud" can be said to be unique.It adopts Chinese classical literature materials and western composition techniques,reflects the dreamy and hazy impressionism style,and effectively integrates Chinese and western elements.It not only shows the characteristics of Chinese classical music culture,but also integrates western modern composition techniques,greatly enriching the artistic expression of dulcimer music.Therefore,the author chose this piece for music ontology analysis,aiming to share the "unique" points of this piece with the majority of dulcimer music friends,and at the same time,put forward my own "development direction of dulcimer art in the future".This article makes a comprehensive analysis of the dulcimer work "Cloud" through four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which describes the development of dulcimer works and the current research status of The Cloud;The second chapter is the analysis of the music ontology of "Cloud End",which studies the music creation characteristics and music language characteristics of "Cloud End",and analyzes the novelty of the music;The third chapter is about the performance characteristics of "The Cloud",further exploring the performance skills of the work,and deeply interpreting the work.In the fourth chapter,the author emphasizes that "integration of China and the West" is still an effective way for the diversified development of dulcimer art in the future.
