The question of consciousness has always been a difficult puzzle for mankind, one that has been present throughout the development of philosophy and is one of the most difficult foundational questions of physicalism. The key to this is that "consciousness" is not only a discursive conceptual problem, but also involves an empirical dimension to which a purely philosophical or physical approach is difficult to provide a suitable answer. Therefore,a combination of scientific discourse and discursive science should be the optimal solution to the conundrum of consciousness, and macro-physicalism is a typical example of such a combination.Traditional micro-physicalism studies the world in a reductive way, often putting reality behind it,and is therefore always weak in the study of the problem of consciousness.Macro-physicalism,on the other hand, takes as its starting point the problem of consciousness itself, explaining phenomenal consciousness and mental causation, drawing on microphysics for reduction on the one hand, and considering the subjective empirical dimension of consciousness in a macrocosmic and holistic perspective on the other.Macro-physicism provides a clarifying explanation of the phenomenal concept and causality, making it clear that physical and phenomenal properties are ontologically the same and that the different intuitions that arise about them are an ’illusion’.The ambiguity and non-constancy of the reference between the phenomenal concept and its corresponding phenomenal property,as a concept that constitutes phenomenal knowledge, can only be grasped and used from a subjective perspective and does not involve the physical world, thus the ambiguity of the phenomenal concept at the conceptual level achieves the compatibility of the indeterminacy of the phenomenal concept, the phenomenal property and the physical property reference.Macro-physicalism denies the existence of cause and effect in the microcosm, but asserts the typological unity of precise micro-states and macro-causes,acknowledges that the probability distribution of micro-states affects macro-causal states, and in turn, through probabilistic considerations, moves macro-causes beyond more specific realisers, reserving a place for the forces of mental states. That is,any macroscopic cause has physical conditions and explanations, and thus can be reduced at the microscopic level, and the probability distribution of such reductions can explain causal effects to some extent.
