In the era of information explosion and serious involution, industry competition is becoming more and more fierce, and the development and operation of enterprise organizations are also facing various challenges.Within the organization, employee mistakes cannot be completely avoided.Mistakes in work have unknown consequences and potential threats, which will hinder the progress of the organization. Therefore, employees’ active error reporting is undoubtedly of great significance to organizational development and organizational stability. The behavior of employees reporting mistakes is undoubtedly risky, and it is more likely to be affected by negative interpersonal relationships. In addition, the leadership style of the leader should also be one of the very important influencing factors. In an organizational context, disharmonious relationships among colleagues will cause employees to remain in a negative emotional state repeatedly after work, increasing their awareness of work-related activities, which in turn affects their subsequent proactive reporting of their mistakes.Focusing on the relationship between organizations and individual employees, this paper examines the relationship between workplace ostracism and employee self-reporting behavior.Since individuals may have different evaluation experiences regarding the psychological impact of perceived workplace exclusion, this study selected two dimensions of personal work rumination:emotional rumination and problem-solving rumination as mediating variables, and emotional leadership as moderator.Variables, using the regression model to explore the deep mechanism of workplace ostracism on voluntary error reporting.Through questionnaire survey and empirical research,353 employees’ validity questionnaires were collected, and SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0 were used to analyze the data and test the hypothesis. The final results are as follows:(1)Workplace exclusion has a significant negative impact on proactive error reporting;(2)Workplace exclusion has a significant positive impact on emotional rumination;(3)Workplace exclusion has a significant positive impact on proactive error reporting;(4)Emotional rumination plays a mediating role between workplace rejection and proactive error reporting;(5)Problem-solving rumination plays a mediating role between workplace rejection and proactive reporting of errors;(6)Problem-solving rumination and proactive reporting of errors There is a significant positive effect between behaviors;(7)Emotional leadership strengthens the relationship between current workplace rejection and problem-solving rumination. On the basis of analyzing the impact of workplace ostracism on employees’active error reporting behavior, this study expands the related research on variables such as workplace ostracism, active error reporting behavior, work rumination, and emotional leadership to a certain extent;Based on the above research results, organizations should pay attention to a good working atmosphere and interpersonal relationships, and pay attention to the adverse effects of workplace exclusion;Leaders give positive emotional management, guide employees to establish good psychological activities and conscious thinking mechanisms, and correctly treat conscious activities in the face of negative events;Encourage workers to pass through the problem-solving rumination barriers, and don’t worry too much about themselves in the emotional reaction array. In addition, this paper also analyzes the shortcomings of this study and points out possible directions for future research.
