Study On The Linguistic Function Of Street Names In Changchun

The standardized construction of geographical names contains the history,culture,customs and civilization of the city,and is related to the construction and development of the city and cultural heritage.Street name planning needs to be standardized and scientifically designed with the function of street names in the actual situation.This paper takes Changchun city street names as the research object to explore the linguistic function of city street names.The main contents of the paper include:Introduction.It introduces the geography and humanities,history and management of toponymy in Changchun,describes the research purpose and research significance of the thesis,clarifies the research object and research method of this paper,and reviews the current status of research on the linguistic function of street names.Chapter 1,statistics and classification of street names in Changchun city.By collating and counting 1901 street names in Changchun city,we classify the street names in Changchun city into sign-type names,allegorical names,and denotative names by combining the word choice and naming rationale of street names in Changchun city.Chapter 2,analyzes the linguistic functions of Changchun city street names.The study of Changchun street names is carried out from three perspectives: indication function,construction function and derivation function.The instructional function includes the function of identification,location,and pointing;the constructive function includes the function of cultural construction,emotional construction,and image construction;the derivative function mainly includes the function of national education,advertising and propaganda,and the dynamic coordination function of penetrating history and breaking the limitation of the times.Chapter 3,the means to achieve the language function of Changchun city street names.Street name is the exclusive name used by the society to identify the road entity.Mainly through the internal construction means,lexical means,word choice means to achieve the street name indication function,construction function and derivative function.Chapter 4,the influencing factors of the linguistic function of street names in Changchun.By analyzing the linguistic functions of multiple street names,the factors affecting the linguistic functions of street names in Changchun mainly include historical legacy,industrial orientation,policy statute,era leading,and planning drive.Chapter 5,the problems and inspirations of street name language function design in Changchun.The main problems of street names in Changchun are homophonic phenomenon,multiple names along the way or segmented names,lagging naming planning,and weak awareness of information protection.And suggestions are made to strengthen the functional construction of street names in Changchun,which mainly include flexibly choosing the best performance symbols to strengthen the indication function;highlighting the constructive function to enhance the reputation of street names;improving the service quality to bring into play the derivative function of street names;and carrying out the work of geographical name protection to promote language urbanization.
