| The use of light and shadow in Chinese painting is currently a focal point of interest among artists,as they explore how to incorporate this element into the traditional style.Chinese painting emphasizes the use of lines to create forms that capture the essence of the subject,with less attention paid to light and color.In contrast,Western painting focuses on the use of light,color,and perspective to convey themes and create atmosphere.The combination of these two styles results in a unique visual effect.This article examines the historical development of light and shadow in both Chinese and Western painting,analyzes the exchange and mutual influence of works,and explains the differences between the use of light and shadow in the two styles.In personal artistic creation,artists experiment with various techniques and materials to explore the relationship between light and shadow and other elements of painting,such as lines,color,and space.By integrating light and shadow with Chinese ink painting,and using lines as the foundation,artists are able to enhance the expressive power of their works and demonstrate the feasibility of using light and shadow in Chinese painting.Through a comparative analysis of Chinese and Western painting,this article explores the application of light and shadow in Chinese painting while retaining the fundamental characteristics of Chinese ink painting,while also incorporating elements of Western painting language.This provides new perspectives for research and strong evidence for the innovative and integrated development of Chinese and Western painting. |
