Research And Application Of Black And White Formal Language In Black And White Woodcutting

Black and white woodcutting is a special way of painting by studying the law of black and white and using two contrasting colors to express the vast world.Due to the particularity of materials and tools used in black and white woodcuts,the uniqueness of formal language and its deep cultural connotation,black and white formal language has irreplaceable artistic value in black and white woodcuts.As the basic creation language of black and white woodcarving,the research and application of black and white formal language has a very important position.This paper takes the study of black and white formal language in black and white woodcuts as the main guide,starting from its interpretation,combined with the representative works of modern and contemporary excellent printmakers of black and white woodcuts to deeply analyze the organization and characteristics of black and white formal language.The point,line and surface of black and white formal language are studied.This paper discusses the creation of "Wu-Kong Series",explores the suitable creation direction and concept,applies the research of black and white formal language into the creation,deepenthe understanding of black and white formal language,and gives full play to the role of black and white formal language in black and white woodcarving.
