Abstract/Summary:
Discourse mark is an expression which mainly appears in spoken language,is syntactically independent, and only reflects the meaning of the program.Negative discourse markers are those which contain negative meanings and express the negative, negative emotional attitude or reaction evaluation of the speaker.Linguists focus on the function, classification and characteristics of negative discourse markers, but ignore the relationship between their use characteristics and the speaker’s own sociality. Therefore,it is necessary to study how social characteristics affect the use of negative discourse markers from the perspective of sociolinguistics. The research object of this paper is negative-like discourse markers. It mainly USES the research methods of sociolinguistics to explore how various social factors affect the use of negative-like discourse markers and the social variants of negative-like discourse markers.Negative discourse markers are divided into three categories:emotional attitude, factual behavior and information description.Taking"Zhen shi(真是)","X le(‘X’了)"and"Guan ta ne(管他呢)"as examples, this paper explores the discourse characteristics of three negative discourse markers respectively, and makes relevant sociolinguistic investigations.Relevant data were collected by means of corpus and questionnaire. The characteristics of the use of negative discourse markers are analyzed from the perspectives of gender, age and occupation. This paper found that compared with the influence of age and occupation, gender has a greater influence on the use of negative discourse markers, and men are more likely to use negative discourse markers than women. The results of the investigation on emotional attitude and information description show that the selection characteristics of 21-30 years old and 41-50 years old are more similar, and the selection characteristics of 31-40 years old and 41-50 years old are more similar.Students are more willing to use negative discourse markers than non-students,and students are more focused on the selection of various types. In contrast, students were also found to be more likely to use discourse markers with weak negative ability, while non-students were more likely to use discourse markers with strong negative ability or use complete sentences to express negation. The reason of this situation is related to the social role and social psychology, the thinking pattern of social culture and the power imbalance caused by socialization.socialization.
