A Study On The Cultural Identity Function Of The Ritual Of Sacrificing To Loong Of Yi People

As loong worship as the core of culture,the ritual of sacrificing to loong is a kind of ritual cultural events shared by multi-ethnic groups in China.It is widely found in the social life of Chinese ethnic groups such as Han,Yi,Naxi,Lisu,Hani,Dai,Zhuang,Dong,miao and so on,presenting a multicultural integrated cultural picture of Chinese Loong culture.In this paper,the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi is taken as the research object,and the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Nesupo,a branch of Yi people in Huaining County,Yunnan Province,is taken as a field case.Among them,Mada Xiaozhai in Ningzhou Town,Huaning County is mainly selected as the field point.Through the investigation of the ritual of sacrificing to loong in Mada Xiaozhai,taking it as the starting point of the study,the cultural identity function of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi is studied by the comprehensive application of ethno-symbolism,anthropological ritual research and anthropological identity theory.Meanwhile,this paper makes a cross-branch and cross-ethnic comparative analysis of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi,excavates its common ethnic symbolic elements,and discusses the construction function of the cultural identity of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi from the three aspects of Nie Supo cultural identity,Yi cultural identity and Chinese cultural identity,and tries to make a local consideration and reflection on the ethno-symbolism.This paper consists of three parts,including introduction,text and conclusion.Among them,The introduction part introduces the reason and significance of the topic,the general situation of field points,research review and research methods.The main body includes five chapters: Chapter one,based on the description of the concept of loong worship of Yi,and then from the horizontal and vertical aspects to elaborate the historical origin and spatial distribution of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi.Chapter two discusses the concept of loong worship and the general situation of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Nie Supo in Huaining.The third chapter,from the historical memory of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Nie Supo in Mada,the perfomance of the ritual of sacrificing to loong in Mada Xiaozhai and the symbolic metaphor expression of ritual symbols,discusses the practice of the ritual of sacrificing to loong in Mada Xiaozhai.The fourth chapter is a cross-branch and cross-ethnic comparative study of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi.Among them,the general situation of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Nie Supo of A Zhe and Pula of Yi people branch is compared with that of Nie Supo.The ritual of sacrificing to loong of Naxi and Zhuang is compared with that of Yi.From this,we can explore its commonness and dissimilarity,and dig out the ethnic symbolic elements which are beneficial to the construction of ethnic cultural identity.The fifth chapter discusses the construction of ethnic cultural identity of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi.This paper discusses the construction of the cultural identity of Nie Supo and Yi people by the ritual of sacrificing to loong,and also discusses the construction of the Chinese cultural identity by the ritual of sacrificing to loong shared by multi-ethnic groups.And then finally,in the epilogue,it summarizes the contents and views of the whole paper,and also thinks about the ethno-symbolism paradigm through the analysis of the cultural identity function of the ritual of sacrificing to loong.To sum up,the main results of this thesis are as follows: First,the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi includes the basis for the formation of ethnic group and its identity emphasized by the ethnic-symbolism paradigm,that is,ethnic symbolic elements such as myth,memory,value,concept and symbol.It is undoubtedly a kind of ethnic symbolic resources to construct and strengthen the cultural identity of Yi people.Secondly,the long-term analysis emphasized by the ethno-symbolism paradigm provides a reasonable way to explore the cultural identity function of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi and the internal continuity between the loong culture of Yi and the Chinese loong culture.Thirdly,as one element of the pluralistic integration of Chinese loong culture,the study of the ritual of sacrificing to loong of Yi cannot be divorced from the historical and cultural context of the formation and development of Chinese loong culture.This is because it not only retains the dragon image characteristics of the Yi people,but also absorbs the dragon image characteristics and related cultural elements of other ethnic groups such as the Han people.Finally,the ritual of sacrificing to loong is not a traditional cultural custom exclusively enjoyed by the Yi people,but a ritual custom shared by multi-ethnic groups in China.It presents the ethnic symbolic elements shared by multi-ethnic groups,that is,the common agricultural production needs,loong worship psychology,loong image cognition and ritual purpose among multi-ethnic groups.It is the witness of the pluralistic integration of Chinese culture,which is conducive to promoting the construction of identity among different ethnic groups and the construction of Chinese cultural identity as a whole.
