| India and Pakistan are not only the two most important powers in South Asia,but also important neighbors of China.The change of India Pakistan Relations is the core of the stability of South Asia,the focus of the game between foreign powers in South Asia,and the focus of the security and stability of China’s southwest frontier,as well as the promotion of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and construction.Therefore,it is of great theoretical significance and practical application value to explore the influencing factors,mechanism and evolution characteristics of India Pakistan geographical relations and reveal their internal laws.Based on the current quantitative indicators of domestic and foreign geopolitics and geopolitical relations,this paper fully considers the complex geopolitical environment of India and Pakistan,takes the event data in gdelt database as the source data,establishes national geopolitical relations indicators and verifies their scientificity.Quantitative analysis is made on the geopolitical relationship between India and Pakistan from 2006 to 2020.The evolution characteristics of the geopolitical relationship between India and Pakistan are calculated from the time dimension.The standard deviation ellipse method is used to calculate the spatial evolution of cooperation events and conflict events in the geopolitical relationship between India and Pakistan,and then analyze the political,economic and military changes of India and Pakistan under the event types.According to the key words,the influencing factors of India Pakistan geopolitical relations are queried and analyzed,and the driving factors of the evolution of India Pakistan geopolitical relations are systematically expounded.It also analyzes the geopolitical relationship between India and Pakistan through event classification and country geopolitical relationship index.The conclusions are as follows:(1)According to the calculation of the national geopolitical relationship index,the time change characteristics of India Pakistan bilateral relations from 2006 to 2020 are as follows: from 2006 to 2008,the cooperation relationship declined sharply,and from2009 to 2015,the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan showed ups and downs after a slight recovery.At this stage,the cooperation conflicts between India and Pakistan coexisted.From 2016 to 2020,the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan were tense,the normal confrontation evolved into fierce exchanges of fire,and the fluctuation of bilateral relations decreased.In general,the change range of India Pakistan geopolitical relations index can be regarded as "positive correlation" and shows a similar trend,which also shows that India Pakistan geopolitical relations index shows a similar trend change,which is a phased and gradual evolution process.(2)From 2006 to 2020,the spatial characteristics of India Pakistan bilateral relations are as follows: under the relationship of cooperation and conflict,the center of gravity of the standard deviation ellipse moves northward,close to the India Pakistan border,but always in India,indicating that India has always been in a dominant position in India Pakistan bilateral relations.The ellipse of standard deviation of cooperation conflict relationship has increased,and the distribution of India Pakistan geographical interaction behavior is more balanced.(3)In the time type classification of each stage,political events are the most,followed by military events,economic events are the least,and conflict is the main tone of India Pakistan Relations.Political cooperation and military conflicts are widely distributed and political conflicts are concentrated.The provinces and states with the most incidents are Punjab in Pakistan,Maharashtra,Delhi and Kashmir in India.(4)The driving factors affecting India Pakistan geopolitical relations include:change of leaders,territorial disputes,major power factors,religious factors,terrorism,nuclear weapons and arms race.Among them,there are strong positive correlations between territorial disputes and terrorism,religious factors and terrorism,big power factors and nuclear weapons and arms race.(5)The main conclusions of the geopolitical relationship between great powers and India and Pakistan are as follows: China and Pakistan have a strong cooperative geopolitical relationship,and the relationship between the two countries has a continuous upward trend,and the geopolitical relationship between China and India will continue to decline;The United States and Pakistan have shown a downward trend in their geopolitical relations,and the United States and India have shown a moderate relationship of geopolitical cooperation;Russia,on the other hand,has a stable and low cooperative geopolitical relationship with India and Pakistan. |
