In the context of our increasingly aging population structure,it is particularly important to improve the socialized old-age care system and the scale and stability of the elderly care workforce in China. Also,it will provide some reference for the revision of national policies and regulations for foreign long-term care workers and related institutions in society. The source text comes from Associate Professor Guo Shengqian’s paper,Care Needs of Chinese Aging population and Occupational Quality of Long-term Care Workers-Empirical analysis based on long-term care workers in W city.In the source text, the authors examine the current occupational quality of care workers through an empirical study of care workers in the mega-city of W,China. Therefore,it is an information text. The article is logical, with multi-professional terms and professional views. The translation should be content-oriented,faithful first. On the basis of the analysis of the source text and Nord’s translation-oriented text analysis model, the internal and external factors are analyzed.Nord’s function plus loyalty theory is adopted as the guiding theory.Case analysis are conducted at the three levels of vocabulary, syntax and text.At the lexical level, accurate translation of terminology is essential, also the non-technical terms and four-character structures can be translated with conversion, combination, and omission. At the syntactic level, the no-subject sentence can be done by adding formal subjects“it” and changing the passive voice. At the discourse level, immersion should be put in the cohesion of the translated text, and objectivity, accuracy, and readability should be emphasized.
