| Sentences with passive voice are commonly used in legal English texts in order to express in an objective and accurate manner.Therefore,translation of sentences with passive voice in legal English is of particular importance.This report mainly concentrates on translation techniques of sentences with passive voice in Chapter 6 of book Understanding Family Law,stating the significance of this report.Features of sentences with passive voice in English and features of sentences with passive voice marker in Chinese have been analyzed respectively with the methods of contrast and comparison for the purpose of probing into the translation techniques of English sentences with passive voice: translating English sentences with passive voice into Chinese sentences with active voice structure;translating English sentences with passive voice into Chinese sentences with passive voice marker.It is hoped that this report may provide some practical suggestions for the translation of sentences with passive voice in legal English texts. |
