Nowadays,artificial intelligence is playing a prominent part in education,bringing sweeping impacts and challenges to all stakeholders in it.The document AI in Education:Change at the Speed of Learning,which was released by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education in November 2020,is used as the source text in the E-C translation report.The report elaborates on the translation theory,process and techniques of the translation practice.The report includes five parts,namely,introduction,task description,translation process,case analysis and conclusion.The introduction covers the background and significance of the translation project.The task description analyzes the source text from lexical,syntactic and textual aspects,and introduces the requirements of the entrusting party.The translation process consists of pre-translation,mid-translation and post-translation.Before translation,the background information of the source text,translation tools and resources,parallel texts,the Skopos Theory,translation plan and list of terms are prepared.The means of translation quality control and translation process are described in mid-translation.The post-translation is divided into three parts,namely,self-evaluation,peer evaluation,and feedback from the entrusting party.The translation report’ focal point is the case analysis.With the Skopos Theory as the guiding theory,the difficulties of the translation project are analyzed in terms of lexis,syntax and discourse.The difficulties include terminology,abbreviations,passive sentences,long sentences,attributive clauses,cohesion and coherence.By adopting the translation strategy of domestication and translation techniques such as addition,division and shift,the target text can achieve the purpose of precisely reflecting the content of the source text and following the expression habits of the Chinese language.In summary,the translator should not only faithfully reproduce the content of the source text,but also fully consider the readers’reading experience and present the target text fluently through varied translation methods and techniques.In addition,in order to improve translation ability,the translator should accumulate more professional knowledge,master computer-aided translation tools,and improve her bilingual expression ability.
