In the context of fierce competition for talents,education has become a matter of concern to all countries.It is necessary to learn from the excellent education experience of foreign education while developing domestic education.This paper chooses the book Reinventing Education in America for E-C hoping to inspire domestic educators and parents,to better conduct education to children.This translation practice report is based on the E-C translation practice that the author participated in.Under the guidance of skopos theory,the author explores the corresponding strategies to approach some difficulties confronted in the translation.According to the three principles of skopos theory: skopos,fidelity and coherence,the author adopts such strategies as amplification,annotation,inversion and linear translation to solve the problems encountered in translating terminologies and long and complicated sentences so that the Chinese version is faithful to the source text while considering the target reader.This report mainly includes the following four parts: the first chapter introduces the project background and the source of translation materials.The second chapter introduces the preparation before translation,the analysis in translation and the revision after translation.The third chapter is the focus of this report,uses examples to analyze the three principles of skopos theory.The last chapter summarizes the shortcomings and achievements of translating the Reinventing Education in America.
