Since the new century,paying attention to the underclass and writing the underclass is an important direction for the development of Chinese literature.Under today’s cultural vision and social background,the popularity of low-level literature in academia continues unabated.Among the many writers who write at the underclass,Yan Lianke,as one of them,has innovated the writing skills and pursued the ultimate,immersed in the Henan dialect and various literary styles and other elements in the text,and unremittingly explored the creative themes such as absurdity and suffering,which is very distinctive.The underclass narrative of Yan Lianke’s novels disassembles the spiritual predicament and existential crisis in the real life of the mass society at the bottom,reconstructs it in an exaggerated,absurd and magical way by borrowing fables,dreams,oracles and so on.Analysis and performance deepen the connotation of the novel text.Based on Yan Lianke’s novels,the thesis carefully reads the novel texts that express the underclass narrative.With the support of narratology theory and hermeneutics theory,this thesis discusses Yan Lianke’s unique creation of the underclass narrative of the novel,and demonstrates the literary and practical significance of his underclass writing.The thesis is divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly summarizes and reviews the current research situation,and briefly sorts out and summarizes the literature related to Yan Lianke’s personal experience and creative process;the second part,"the Causes of Formation of the Underclass Narration in Yan Lianke’s Novels",clarifies the concept and development trend of "bottom" and "bottom literature".On the basis of this thesis,it analyzes and expounds the influence of the memory of rural suffering life,revolutionary enlightenment literature and Western modern literature on Yan Lianke’s novel writing,and further interprets the connotation of Yan Lianke’s underlying memory and imaginary metaphor.The third part,"the Characters of the Underclass Narrative in Yan Lianke’s Novels",starts from three types: the poor,the disabled,the low-level images under power relations,and the ignorant and weak bottom-level group portraits,and summarizes the image characteristics of different types of underclass characters.The fourth part,"the Artistic Strategy of Underclass narrative in Yan Lianke’s Novels",based on the analysis of Yan Lianke’s underclass narrative and the underclass characters in the first two chapters,deeply digs into the diversified narrative strategies of the text,the closed and implied geographical space and discourse space.In addition,the narrative structure that traces the source of a story and adds the remarks inside are also important parts of the narrative strategy of Yan Lianke’s novels.These unique creations of the narrative structure fully clarifies the innovative characteristics of Yan Lianke’s underclass narrative strategy.The fifth part,"the Influence of Underclass Narration in Yan Lianke’s Novels",grasps the direction from a macro perspective,analyzes the details on a micro level,and abstractly summarizes the literary value of Yan Lianke’s writing on the fate of the underclass characters,as well as his rational reflection on the current social reality and life consciousness.The humanistic feelings that contemporary writers should have.The conclusion summarizes the full text,pays attention to Yan Lianke’s creative process and the new quality of the underclass narrative form and content,and summarizes the achievements and reflections of the underlying narrative of Yan Lianke’s novels in the history of contemporary literature and the history of world literature.
