A Phonetic Study On Funan Speech In Northern Wan Dialects

Funan County,subordinate to Fuyang City,Anhui Province,is located on the North Bank of the junction of the upper and middle reaches of the Huai River.The local dialect spoken by Funan people belongs to Shangfu dialect of Zhongyuan Mandarin in zoning,which is also commonly known as Northern Wan dialects.With the development of the times and the close inter-regional interpersonal communication,the northern Anhui dialect Funan dialect [For the convenience of writing,the following will be referred to as the Funan dialect of the northern Anhui dialect.] Frequent contact with foreign dialects,coupled with the vigorous promotion of Putonghua,some new features and changes have appeared in the Funan dialect.At present,there are relatively few studies on the Funan dialect in the academic circle,and it is mentioned in the local chronicles;in addition,some researchers have conducted a larger-scale survey of dialects in the Huaihe River Basin and northern Anhui dialects.Townships are briefly investigated as a dialect point,but the description is sparse,not specific and detailed enough,and cannot be comprehensive,and cannot reveal the characteristics of the Funan dialect scientifically and systematically as a whole,so the in-depth study of the Funan dialect has special significance.On the basis of in-depth field investigations,this paper preliminarily describes the face of the Funan dialect after carefully sorting,analyzing and processing the first-hand phonetic data.The specific content is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which briefly introduces the background and significance of the topic selection,and the current research situation;the second chapter is the phonology of the Funan dialect,including the rhythm and rhythm matching rules,and lists the homophony of the Funan dialect in detail.Vocabulary,etc.;Chapter 3: Comparison of Phonetics and Mandarin Phonology;Chapter 4:Comparison of Funan Dialect and Medieval Phonology;Chapter 5,Different Reading Phenomenon in Funan Dialect;Through synchronic and diachronic comparative studies,this paper summarizes and reveals the similarities and differences of the tones of the Funan dialect and Putonghua and the evolution of the medieval sounds in the Funan dialect.In addition,the article also describes and analyzes the rich phenomenon of different readings and tones in the Funan dialect,which further deepens people’s understanding of the pronunciation of the Funan dialect.On the basis of full investigation and research,I put forward my own views and corrections on the errors and difficult problems of phonetic description in Funan County Chronicles,and finally explain the lack of research in this paper and the problems to be further studied.
