Alberti was an Italian humanist who lived in the early 15 th century and reflected the new progress of Florentine art in his art theory.As an artist and theorist in the early Renaissance,Alberti looked at the changes of artistic creation in the new era with a very modern avant-garde vision,and applied scientific theoretical knowledge to painting creation,based on which he studied the techniques of new painting art.Based on the theoretical content of Alberti’s art theory book "On Painting",analysis and study of alberti’s art theory "the new art of painting" have put forward a new concept,new theory and new techniques of Renaissance art guide,and the "new artistic ideal" compared with the contemporary representative master of art,At the same time,it discusses the later art historians’ comments on Alberti’s artistic theory.The main body of the paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter summarizes the background and foundation of Alberti’s art theory,discusses the current situation of the development of art under the background of his social era,Alberti’s life experience and art experience,the origin of his theory and the content overview of "On Painting".The second chapter analyzes and studies alberti’s ideal of "new painting art".The analysis of alberti’s basic idea of painting art includes its theoretical core and theoretical basis,and then analyzes his new understanding of the characteristics of painting art,as well as his expectations and requirements for painters.The third chapter mainly analyzes and discusses Alberti’s requirements for "new painting art" techniques,including the outline,composition,light and shade,perspective and other aspects of the picture,as well as alberti’s new discoveries in techniques and the application of new methods.The fourth chapter compares Alberti’s new painting theory with that of Da Vinci and Durer in the Renaissance,from which we can see the similarities and different understandings of the same theory among the masters,and discusses Alberti’s forerunner in the theoretical system of painting in the new era and his influence on the later generations.The fifth chapter summarizes and analyzes the later art historians’ comments on Alberti’s theoretical views,including Vasari in the Renaissance period,Burkhardt in the 19 th century and Venduri in the 20 th century.They all express their praise to Alberti,but also include objective and real general comments.The conclusion is that there is no doubt about alberti’s pioneering theory of new painting."On Painting",as a landmark theoretical work of painting in the early Renaissance,is undoubtedly a comprehensive rebellion and complete overthrow of medieval painting,and at the same time plays a leading role in guiding the development of painting art.Alberti and his "On Painting" have made indelible contributions to improving the status of painting and artists,improving the practicability of painting techniques and improving the verisimiliteness of painting,which promoted the progress of painting art in the Renaissance period and provided a model for later painters and theorists.
