In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,from the changes in the political and social environment to the change in ideological awareness,from Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism to Yangming’s Xinxue,the ideological change was largely reflected in various fields,and calligraphy was no exception.The philosophical thinking of Yangming’s Xinxue,emphasizing that ‘the heart is the principle’,has played a role in stimulating and liberating the nature of the heart and conscience.In terms of calligraphy,it is embodied in the change of the orientation of learning calligraphy or the level of aesthetics,and then displayed through calligraphy works.Therefore,this article starts with Wang Yangming’s realization of ‘Xinxue’ and his own understanding of calligraphy,to the dissemination of Yangming’s Xinxue by Wang Yangming and his disciples,to the acceptance and expression of Yangming’s Xinxue by calligraphers in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.The calligraphic ideology in the late Ming and early Qin dynasties is greatly influenced by Yangming’s Xinxue,emphasizing on expressing the nature of the heart and revealing the true self.The calligraphic ideology in the late Ming and early Qin dynasties is greatly influenced by Yangming’s Xinxue,emphasizing on expressing the nature of the heart and revealing the true self.The purpose of this paper is to sort out and prove the transformation and breakthrough of the development of calligraphy art by accepting Yangming’s psychology in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,to understand the creation ideas of calligraphers and the formation of the calligraphy trend of thought,in order to supplement or improve the research on the calligraphy trend of thought in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
