| In the Tang Dynasty,a surprising number of grottoes statues emerged due to the unique conditions.The grottoes,as one of the main carriers of Buddhist art,can truly reflect the local religious beliefs.Some of the gods formed the —— Guanyin with very regional characteristics through combination.At the same time,Mizong is also further spreading its teachings,which also promoted the rapid improvement of the status of Guanyin Bodhisattva in Sichuan region,bringing the Guanyin belief to a new peak.From the perspective of Guanyin statues,Pujiang Grottoes have a unique position in many grottoes in Sichuan.According to the existing literature,we can understand that the number of Guanyin statues in Pujiang Grottoes is large,rich in themes,and full of regional ethnic and cultural colors.The large number of single-even Guanyin statues in Pujiang Grottoes,which also just reflects the high status of Guanyin Bodhisattva in Pujiang area.In addition to the odd and even statues of Pujiang Grottoes,there are three or more statues of Guanyin.In the later period,because the secret religion was widely spread in Shu,there also appeared secret statues mainly with qianhand Guanyin,as well as the combination of a variety of folk beliefs,namely Guanyin and local Tibetan statues.This paper through the relevant literature and previous research results on the guanyin statue review,to clarify the status of the tang dynasty Guanyin statue art research,for the future to further explore the Pujiang grottoes tang dynasty Guanyin statue type,characteristics and build the historical background,cause,meaning,artistic value provides certain basis and research content. |
