On The Light Medium In Contemporary Art And Its Artistic Creation In Space

At the beginning of human existence,light,as a necessary condition for existence,has become a common material in artistic creation through the passage of time and the development of society.All artistic creation is carried out around the material.Works of art are expressed through the medium,which is the product of the artist’s dynamic action on the material,it is of great significance to the formation of works with artistic aesthetic value.Usually,works of art exist in space,light as an invisible art material,need to be shaped by external objects,which makes light different from other material unique.Light carries the history,embodies the unique cultural connotation,and also embodies the shaping of space by light not only in the propagation characteristics of light itself and visual language,but also in the shaping of space by light media,it is the embodiment that the visual language level rises to the psychological perception level.This paper tries to find out the characteristics and changes of the light medium in the process of creation by deeply studying and analyzing the creation of light medium with different materials.This paper is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter,the concept of material and media and the media nature of materials are discussed respectively.The second chapter is about the different forms of different optical media in space,and the third chapter is from the two aspects of the optical media as the subject and the optical media as the subject,in-depth analysis of two different states of light media in Space Art.Among them,it mainly discusses the three artists and their works who regard the light medium as the art works themselves,summarizes the individuality and commonness of the three artists’ creation methods,and explores more media expression,so as to provide a more solid foundation for future creation.
