Social Cognition Research On Stigma Marks

Stigmatization is a widespread social phenomenon,and we can find many concrete examples of stigmatization in both history and modern society.For example,the images of traitors such as Zhao Gao,Qin Hui,and Qi Shan recorded in history;female drivers called "the road killers" in modern society,female doctors known as "the third sex";and the phenomenon of "geographical discrimination" and so on.The phenomenon of stigmatization is closely related to the development of abusive language.Through the analysis of abusive language and the combination of linguistics,semiotics and sociological related theories,this thesis conducts a regular exploration of the phenomenon of stigmatization,and attempts to explain the essence of stigmatization from a cognitive perspective.Apart from the introduction and conclusion,the main content of this thesis is divided into three parts.The first part,the second chapter of this article,is mainly about the definition and classification of the connotation of stigmatization.In this part,a general analysis is made of the meaning evolves of “stigma” and stigmatization phenomena such as " the yellow six-pointed star ",we believe that stigmatization is a cognitive “verdecken”,and the main implementation process is divided into two stages: marks generation and referent construction.Depending on the nature of the stigmatic marks,stigmatization can be divided into the stigma of the image color symbol marks,the stigma of the body symbol marks,and the stigma of the language symbol marks.And that abusive language is an important type of stigmatic mark.The second part,the third,fourth,and fifth chapters of this article,follows the idea from special to general,using cognitive analysis and semantic analysis methods to analyze the words in detail,and on this basis,we constructe the general cognitive model of stigmatization and analyze specific stigmatization cases such as "green scarf".The third chapter and the fourth chapter analyze the terms from marks generation and referent construction separately,and the fifth chapter deals with the construction and application of the general model of stigmatization.On the basis of all these works,this thesis holds such a view that in such a cognitive ‘verdecken’,stigmatic marks are the core of stigmatization.The nature of mark determine the nature of stigmatization.When the process of stigmatization is completed,the stigmatized object is covered by the meaning of stigmatic mark.At this time,in the social perspective,the stigmatized object does not exist as themselves as usual,but as a figurative expression of stigmatic marks.The third part is the sixth chapter of this paper,the main content is about the countermeasures of stigmatization governance.On the basis of the previous analysis,we believe that stigmatization has become a serious social risk.And this thesis advocates that from the perspective of social co-governance,we should grasp the generation and spread of stigmatic marks,and jointly construct a general governance model of stigmatized society that dare not,can not and will not to put a stigma on anybody.
