Li Minxiong is a famous national instrumental music theorist,national percussion player and national music educator in China.As a teaching and research worker specialized in ethnic music theory and ethnic percussion in Shanghai Conservatory of music,his theory,creation and teaching have formed a complete and harmonious whole around the center of "ethnic instrumental music" for many years.His performance and creation are rooted in the collection,study and research of folk music.On the contrary,these creative experiences are also fed back into his theoretical research.Therefore,his theoretical research has a high guiding significance for practice.In addition,the results of these studies can also be seen from his teaching.Throughout Li Minxiong’s achievements in theoretical research,music creation and education,there is an inseparable "Trinity" relationship between the three.This article takes Li Minxiong’s national instrumental music theory as the starting point,carries on the correlation research to the music practice based on his theory,and explores how Li Minxiong effectively links "teaching,creation and research" with the overall view of "Trinity".In addition to revealing the trinity of Li Minxiong’s artistic practice,the article places it in the construction process of Chinese traditional music theory,and views its value significance in the construction of traditional music theory,as well as its enlightenment and influence on future generations.The first chapter digs out the core of Li Minxiong’s theoretical research through sorting out his theoretical research process.The second chapter interprets Li Minxiong’s two textbooks from birth to writing to see how Li Minxiong intentionally and planned to inject theoretical research into teaching.The third chapter analyzes Li Minxiong’s four music works to see how his theoretical research experience is presented in creation,How rational knowledge guides perceptual creation,the fourth chapter combs the literature written by Li Minxiong,abstracts his national music view and ponders its concept connotation.
