| Taking the negative response "na you zen me yang" in modern Chinese as the research object,this thesis uses related theories such as metalinguistic negation,conversation analysis,and position expression,and adopts the methods of literature research,combination of description and interpretation,and combination of quantitative and qualitative to deeply describe and analyze the composition and turn distribution of the negative response "na you zen me yang".What is more,this thesis explores the types of triggers and negative object of "na you zen me yang",and then analyzes the pragmatic function of "na you zen me yang" and the factors restricting its pragmatic function.Studying the negative response "na you zen me yang" can not only deepen people’s understanding of the negative response,but also promote the research of the response system and provide reference for the research of the negative usage of the interrogative pronoun "How".The specific contents of thisthesis are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the origin of the topic selection,relevant research status,research methods and the source of corpus.The second chapter is the composition analysis and turn distribution of "na you zen me yang".Firstly,this chapter analyzes the semantics of its components,according to the different forms and meanings of the response.Then,this chapter describes the turn distribution of the negative response "na you zen me yang",and then explores the turn position preference and typical response mode of "na you zen me yang" as a negative response.The third chapter is about the types of triggers and the object of negation.From the perspective of the pragmatic function of "na you zen me yang",this chapter divides the triggers of "na you zen me yang" into four types: emphasis and reminder,resentment and derogation,questioning speculation,and praise.Since the negative response "na you zen me yang" negates the implicit meaning of the other party’s discourse,this chapter divides "na you zen me yang" into two categories: denying the hidden meaning of the recipient’s understanding and denying the implicit meaning of the recipient’s evaluation,and then discusses the subordinate types contained in each category in detail.The fourth chapter is the functional analysis of the negative response "na you zen me yang".First of all,based on the different contexts where "na you zen me yang" appears,this chapter discusses the pragmatic functions of "na you zen me yang" from the perspectives of anti-expectation,negative position expression and highlighting reverse conviction.At the same time,this chapter analyzes the factors restricting the pragmatic function of "na you zen me yang" from four aspects: conversational context,cognitive perspective,psychological distance and social identity.The final section summarizes the main viewpoints,innovations and shortcomings of this thesis. |
