Investigation And Research On Confucian Temples In Longnan Area

The Confucian Temple was a place where Confucius was worshipped and an important place for teaching Confucian classics and cultivating talents in ancient society.Longnan area has a total of seven Confucian temples,built in the Ming Dynasty,the Qing Dynasty continued to expand and develop.During the Period of the Republic of China,Confucian temples in Longnan area suffered multiple damages and tended to decline.Up to now,the four Confucian temples still can reflect the shape and craft of traditional architecture.At the same time,local Chronicles and inscription materials clearly recorded the historical development,Confucian education and sacrificial ceremonies of the Confucian Temple,which fully reflected the historical and educational value of the Confucian Temple.As a precious cultural heritage in Longnan area,the Confucian Temple has witnessed the changes of local history and the prosperity of culture.In this paper,through literature review and field investigation combined research methods,first of all,summarizes the unique geographical environment of longnan and the historical evolution of the Qin and Han dynasties to the Ming and Qing dynasties.This paper combs the evolution of Confucian temples in Longnan region from the establishment of Ming Dynasty,the expansion of Qing Dynasty,and the continuous decline of the Republic of China,and focuses on the cultural connotation embodied in the teaching management and ritual worship of Confucian temples.Secondly,the paper analyzes the reasons and characteristics of the site selection and layout of seven Confucian temples in the Ming and Qing dynasties on the basis of the city maps of each county and district and the distribution maps of Confucian temples.Thirdly,through practical investigation,it is found that the four existing dacheng Halls of Confucian temples in Longnan area are cultural relic protection units,and their architectural forms are both solemn and practical.The decorative art is presented in the way of carving and painting,and the decorative patterns are divided into plants,animals,geometry and utensils.Finally,combined with the actual situation of the conservation and utilization of the Confucian Temple,the main problems existing in the current work are put forward: the protection and management system is not perfect,the public recognition is low and the reasonable utilization is low.It is suggested that the temple should be protected and utilized from three aspects: perfecting the long-term management system,enhancing the public protection awareness and rationally developing the existing functions,so as to give full play to the cultural heritage value of the temple.
