The construction of Confucian Temple failed to get financial appropriation even just after Taiwan was unified by Qing government because of the lack of outlay for local project in Qing dynasty. During Kangxi Dynasty, Many magistrates construct Confucian Temple using their income besides salary, which is in fact the rent of official field peculiarly in Taiwan at that time, by the name of contributing salary. After Yongzheng Dynasty, the magistrates lost their passion of contribution since their income besides salary was reduced after the rent of offical field was handed in to the Fujian government. But the local gentlemen took the place of magistrates in constructing Confucian Temple along with they bettered their condition, and also more and more civilian were joined by the canvass of the gentlemen. After Qianlong Dynasty, the force of government was reduced and the influence of gentlemen in society was enhanced at the same time. The gentlemen assumed a part of responsibility of government as well as showed that they identified with the symbol of national domestication.
