Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder whose core characteristics include lack of social and communication skills and repetitive,restricted behaviors.Impaired social communication ability is one of the key defects of autistic children,and has been listed as one of the diagnostic criteria for autism by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,Fifth Edition(DSM-5).Autistic children are full of fear of the outside world due to their deficient social adaptation ability,which will hinder their correct perception and understanding of the society,and thus make it difficult for them to acquire the ability to cope with the social environment.Complex interpersonal relationship and changing social environment seem to be a terrible invasion behavior for autistic children.Whether it is fear or invasion,they will think that participating in social communication is a dangerous behavior,and thus have a sense of resistance and rejection.Music is an attractive,appealing and social art form,which can create a safe and pleasant atmosphere for autistic children and provide support for cultivating and improving their social communication ability.Being in a relaxed environment created by music can help autistic children reduce their guard against surrounding things and improve their social communication ability through feeling and participating in music.Music intervention,as one of the evidence-based interventions,has been proven to have a positive impact on children with autism and has been identified as a key factor in improving their social interaction skills.The relatively complete music perception ability of autistic children also provides feasibility for the implementation of music intervention.Although there are many studies on music intervention for autistic children at present,there are relatively few studies on music intervention for autistic children’s social communication ability,and most of the studies lack the establishment of intervention objectives and the specific description and analysis of intervention content,which makes it impossible for subsequent researchers to conduct more in-depth studies based on specific intervention content.Therefore,based on the four modules of the integrated music teaching method: nursery rhymes,singing and chorus,music and movement,and music games,this study designed music intervention for autistic children based on the ability required for social interaction,and adopted the method of case study to carry out music intervention practice in Shaanxi Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital.Through the data analysis of the autism treatment evaluation form,as well as the communication and interview with the parents of autistic children and in-class therapists,this paper analyzes the effect of music intervention on the improvement of the social communication ability of autistic children,and summarizes the strategies of music intervention to improve the social communication ability of autistic children.This study is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which clarifies the research background and significance of this subject.Based on the literature review of the social communication ability of autistic children at home and abroad,the research methods and implementation plan of this topic are put forward.The second part,based on the collation of literature,expounds the social communication ability of autistic children and the concept and application of music intervention,analyzes the mechanism that affects the social communication ability of autistic children,discusses the mechanism that music intervention improves the social communication ability of autistic children,and lays a theoretical foundation for the implementation of music intervention.The third part puts forward the music intervention methods and objectives based on the comprehensive music teaching method.According to the ability needs of autistic children in social communication,the music intervention forms and links to improve the social communication ability of autistic children are formulated,and the music intervention cases to improve the social communication ability of autistic children are designed.The fourth part is the practice of music intervention in Shaanxi Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital.It expounds the social interaction behavior of autistic children in the early,middle and late stage of music intervention,and carries on the teaching reflection of music intervention.Through the data of "Autism Treatment Evaluation Form" and the communication with parents and in-class therapists,the effect of music intervention was analyzed,and the strategies of music intervention to improve the social communication ability of autistic children were discussed.The fifth part is conclusion and prospect.Musical intervention is an effective means to improve the social communication ability of autistic children.Through the intervention forms of nursery rhymes,singing and chorus,music and movement,and music games,the common attention of autistic children can be cultivated and their imitation ability can be enhanced.Cultivate autistic children’s self-awareness and improve their self-regulation ability;Strengthen autistic children’s speech ability,improve their cognitive ability;To establish the cooperative consciousness of autistic children and improve their social adaptability.The limitations of this study are summarized and the future development of music intervention research for autistic children is prospected. |
