With the continuous development and progress of international Chinese education,more and more experts and scholars pay attention to improving teaching method to promote the teaching effect.Therefore,many practical and good teaching methods have attracted much attention,among which inquiry-based teaching method is one.As the global popularity of Chinese learning heats up,the number of learners is increasing,and the number of advanced stage learners is also increasing.Inquiry-based teaching method is also playing an increasingly important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and showing its unique teaching methods and characteristics.This paper uses the classroom practice method and observation method,taking the seventh lesson "Beijing People and Shanghai People" of the advanced comprehensive course I of "Developing Chinese" as an example,applies the relevant theories and processes of the inquiry teaching method into the teaching design and carries out the teaching practice.According to the observation of the students in the course of practice and the results of questionnaire and interview after the course,the teaching practice of this course is analyzed,and the advantages and existing problems of the inquiry-based teaching method applied in the teaching of advanced Chinese comprehensive course are summarized,and the relevant suggestions on the use of the teaching method are put forward.
