With the advent of the 5G era,smartphones are becoming more and more important to people’s lives,but frequent use of cell phones has also increased people’s dependence on it,leading to cell phone addiction,which can have a negative impact on people’s lives and studies.Research shows that sensation seeking is related to many kinds of addictive behaviors,and middle school students are at the stage of the highest level of sensation seeking development and are more likely to have cell phone addictive behaviors.And secondary school students spend most of their time in school,and a positive school climate can be protective for students’ development.This study attempts to explore the mechanism of sensory seeking on mobile phone addiction and the moderating effect of perception of campus atmosphere from the perspectives of sensory seeking,missed fear,mobile phone addiction and perception of campus atmosphere,so as to provide empirical support for schools to carry out student work and reduce students’ mobile phone addiction level.A comprehensive empirical study using the Perceived Campus Climate Questionnaire,the Fear of Missing Out Questionnaire,the Mobile Phone Addiction Questionnaire,and the Sensation Seeking Questionnaire was conducted on 1,250 secondary school students in three secondary schools,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)There was a significant positive correlation between sensation seeking,fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction among secondary vocational students,and there was a significant negative correlation between perception of campus atmosphere and sensation seeking,fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction.(2)The fear of missing plays a mediating role between sensation seeking and mobile phone addiction.(3)Perception of campus atmosphere plays a negative moderating role in the effect of sensory seeking on mobile phone addiction,that is,positive campus atmosphere perception can reduce the influence of sensory seeking on mobile phone addiction.(4)Perception of campus atmosphere plays a negative moderating role in the second half of the mediator’s path,that is,under the positive perception of campus atmosphere,the impact of missing out fear on mobile phone addiction is reduced.(5)Taking male students as the research object,the perception of campus atmosphere had a significant moderating effect on the main path and the second half of the mediating path.
