As a cultural "living fossil" of spiritual pursuit of ghosts and praying for blessings and avoiding disasters,Nuo can be said to be a cultural tradition from ancient times to the present, with religious and artistic characteristics. In ancient times,in order to survive and reproduce, ancestors needed religious beliefs to help them surpass themselves in the process of conquering nature. The culture of witchcraft and exorcism emerged in this context, becoming a religious culture that meets the psychological needs of a large number of believers. The term ’Nuo’ means’ scare away the ghosts of the epidemic ’and is a term used by people to avoid encountering disasters. The inheritance of Wu Nuo activities has a long history and is integrated with customs, becoming a traditional culture in many regions of China.Nuo culture is mainly distributed in the Yellow River Basin,Yangtze River Basin, and Southwest China. It has various forms and can be divided into four types based on the service target, performance target, and venue:rural nuo, palace nuo, military nuo,and temple nuo.The Nuo Art in Ningqiang,Shaanxi, which has been studied and passed down to this day, belongs to the category of "rural Nuo",and its performance program is mainly based on the image of "Duan Gong".commonly known as "Duan Gong Opera".Throughout the performance form of the "Duan Gong Opera" in southern Shaanxi,it mainly focuses on superb and exquisite Nuo techniques, such as "Sword Mountain Fire Sea" and "Oil Pot".The performance occasions are mostly interactions between villagers, and the image of fierce intimidation is used in the performance to deter ghosts, gods, and demons from acting recklessly, with the purpose of protecting the lives of the people. After investigation, the author found that the use of elements such as fire, knives, and soldering iron as props in the performance of the Duan Gong Nuo Opera has limited its theatrical presentation. The original intention of this research and practice is to inherit and further develop the unique "Duan Gong Opera" in southern Shaanxi, and to spread it more widely through stage presentation, shining new artistic charm in the fusion of tradition and contemporary culture. Therefore, the research is based on the staged presentation of the image of Ningqiang Duan Gong in southern Shaanxi. The first chapter traces the essential characteristics and connotations of the image of Ningqiang Duan Gong, analyzes relevant classics, and studies its historical development and evolution; The second chapter analyzes the action elements of the existing Duan Gong image, the characteristics and connotations of the Fu Hua Dao,and the current status of the inheritance of Duan Gong image in Ningqiang County, southern Shaanxi, and identifies a new path for Duan Gong culture to be presented on stage; The third chapter takes the stage shaping of Duan Gong’s image as the starting point, starts from the character character, extracts various elements of Duan Gong’s stage image from the program of sacrificial rituals, and constructs corresponding language materials for the dance drama "Nuo·Zhuan".Exploring the role and application of "scenery","emotion","form","image",and"environment" in shaping the stage image of Qiangduan Gong in southern Shaanxi and Ningxia through the practice of dance dramas. The fourth chapter further elaborates on the concept and innovation of the dance drama "Nuo·Zhuan",analyzes the structure of the dance drama, dance vocabulary, and choreography techniques, and comprehensively elaborates on the gains and losses in the practice of creating Duan Gong’s image stage.
