An Analysis Of The Music Style And Singing Of Rossini’s Vocal Cycle "Venice Regatta"

Gioachino Antonio Rossini(1792-1868),one of Italy’s most prominent opera composers in the first half of the 19 th century,and was one of the main representatives of the Romantic music school.During his lifetime,he composed 39 operas,religious music and chamber music,and was deeply accomplished in various musical fields.In this paper,Rossini’s vocal formula “Venive Regatta”,“Anzorretta in front of the Regatta”,“Anzorretta in the Regatta”and“Anzorretta after the Regatta”.It depicts the scene of the heroine Anzorretta cheering for her lover,Momolo,with strong and distinct national characterisitics.This paper consists of three chapters:the first chapter,Rossini’s life and music creation are summarized;The second chapter generalizes the creation background and music analysis of the “Venice Regatta”;The third chapter analyzes the song from three aspects:the artistic effect of the lyrics in Veneto dialect,the emotional expression of the character image and the skillful use of singing skills.
