With the development of the international promotion of Chinese language,Chinese language learners are increasingly becoming more professional and socialized.Private Chinese language institutions have gradually become the preferred choice for society,making them a useful complement to Chinese language teaching in universities.This article mainly uses classroom observation and case analysis methods,and takes That’s Chinese as the research object.By watching 30 elementary Chinese comprehensive course case classes in the institution,the teaching process of each link in classroom teaching is analyzed in detail and its characteristics are explored,and inspiration for private Chinese language institutions is proposed.The elementary Chinese comprehensive courses at That’s Chinese mainly have the following characteristics: in terms of the teaching of language elements,vocabulary teaching and grammar teaching are prominent,followed by pronunciation teaching;The vocabulary teaching mode is single;The vocabulary explanation methods are flexible and diverse,slightly more than the grammar explanation methods.With regard to skill training,teachers attach much more importance to listening and speaking training than to reading and writing training.The occurrence of comprehensive text teaching is significantly less than vocabulary teaching and grammar teaching,and nearly half of the case classes do not cover text teaching.In order to comprehensively reflect the teaching effect,feedback from some teachers and students has been collected.Students are relatively satisfied with the use of institutional teachers,classroom teaching,and teaching aids,and hope that the teaching conditions and environment will be improved.Teachers choose a variety of teaching methods,are able to reflect on teaching issues and make adjustments in a timely manner,and are skilled in using multimedia equipment and network materials.Based on the characteristics of classroom teaching and feedback from teachers and students at That’s Chinese,this paper explores the implications of classroom teaching at the That’s Chinese for institutional Chinese classroom teaching.In terms of classroom teaching,Private Chinese language institutions should flexibly arrange courses,highlight communicative characteristics,attach importance to classroom Chinese teaching,optimize classroom time allocation,and establish a student monitoring mechanism.As for teachers,teachers should actively strengthen the links between teachers,strengthen their own knowledge reserves,and actively participate in institutional teacher training and topic discussions.And for private Chinese language institutions,they should attach importance to teacher training for all teachers,offer diverse discussion topics,continuously improve institutional hardware facilities and gradually increase teachers’ salaries.
