In order to overcome the problems of traditional questionnaires,the Child Mind Institute developed the Extended Strengths and Weaknesses Assessment of Normal Behavior(E-SWAN).Each diagnostic criterion for elected DSM-5 disorders is redefined by the E-SWAN questionnaire as a behavior,from high level to low level.This study aims to translate the Chinese version of the E-SWAN questionnaire,and to investigate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the E-SWAN questionnaire among school-aged children in Nanning,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.Meanwhile,to form a Chinese version of the E-SWAN questionnaire which is suitable for the country’ s national conditions,and to enrich domestic mental health measurement tools for further understanding of domestic children’s behavioral health level.The Chinese version of the E-SWAN questionnaire was established through translation,revision and back-translation.Data were collected from 2034 primary school students.Parents completed each of the four E-SWAN questionnaires and traditional questionnaires addressing the same disorders.To examine the testretest reliability of the Chinese version of the E-SWAN scale,this study randomly selected 287 participants from the original sample data for the second measurement three months after the completion of the first measurement.Results: All E-SWAN scales had normal distributions,as well as good reliability and validity.Conclusion: The Chinese version of E-swan scale has good psychometric characteristics and is suitable for children in China.
