With economic globalization,English education has been incorporated into China’s basic education system.In the era of rapid development of science and technology,animation has become a teaching resource loved by students.The English curriculum standard for compulsory education(2011 Edition)places special emphasis on stimulating and cultivating students’ interest in learning English,and puts forward specific requirements for watching English animation in primary school.That is,children are required to understand English cartoons with simple language and English teaching programs of equivalent level,and the audio-visual time in class is not less than 10 hours per academic year.Research shows that animation resources can stimulate pupils’ interest in learning.This thesis takes the English teachers and students of Primary School H in Nanning as the survey object,studies the application and effectiveness of animation resources in primary school English teaching according to the students’ learning enthusiasm and teaching effect,analyzes the application of animation resources in English Teaching of Primary School H in Nanning,finds the problems existing in the application process,and puts forward some practical suggestions combined with the author’s internship experience and feelings.Based on Krashen’s second language acquisition theory and humanistic learning theory,combined with the cognitive development level of primary school students and the principles of English animation teaching,this thesis employs the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and case analysis to study the following three problems:(1)What is the current situation of the application of English animation teaching resources inprimary schools?(2)What problems exist in the application of English animation teaching resources in primaryschools?(3)How to effectively apply animation teaching resources in primary school English teaching?The full text includes six parts as follows.The First Part: introduction,including the background of the topic,research purpose,research significance,research problems,research methods and research ideas.The Second Part: literature review,including the relevant research on “animation teaching resources” and “primary school English animation teaching resources” at home and abroad,as well as the existing literature review.The Third Part: the definition of core concepts and theoretical basis.The Fourth Part: the investigation design and result analysis of the current situation of the application of English animation teaching resources in primary schools.The Fifth Part: the application status and Countermeasures of English animation teaching resources in primary schools.The Sixth Part: conclusion,including research results,research reflection and research prospect.Through the research,it is found that there are some problems between teachers and students in the application of English animation teaching resources in primary schools,mainly including the following aspects:(1)teachers have a single way of applying animation resources,few types of applications,and weak skills in applying animation resources;(2)Students watch English animation for a single purpose,have an unclear understanding of English language knowledge and lack of understanding of animation background knowledge.The main reasons are as follows:(1)teachers have insufficient understanding of the significance of animation teaching resources,few channels to obtain animation teaching resources,and the level of information technology needs to be improved;(2)Students’ English learning motivation is not clear,English knowledge reserve is small,and English extracurricular learning resources are limited.In order to solve the problems found and optimize the effect of English animation teaching resources in primary schools,the author puts forward the following suggestions:(1)teachers should start from themselves,strive to improve their information technology level,broaden the channels to obtain English animation teaching resources,and enrich the types and application methods of classroom English animation resources.(2)Students should clarify their English learning motivation and enrich their English knowledge reserve.Thus,sincerely hope that this study provides some reference for the application of animation teaching resources in primary school English education in China.
