Blended teaching is a new mode, which is gradually recognized and developed by reflecting on online teaching and traditional face-to-face teaching. It is a deep integration of modern information technology and education, and it meets the new teaching requirements in the post-epidemic era.It is based on a series of theories such as constructivism theory, autonomous learning theory and mastery learning theory.Blended teaching integrates the advantages of online teaching and traditional face-toface teaching, and makes up for the shortcomings of both.It aims to be student-centered,actively playing the role of teacher’s guidance, inspiration and monitoring.Meanwhile,it emphasizes the cultivation of learners’ autonomy and creativity to achieve the optimized learning and teaching outcomes. This thesis adopts an empirical research method to study the application of blended teaching in the English class of 2021 nonEnglish majors at Harbin Engineering University. The two research questions were:(1)what is the attitude of college English learners toward blended teaching mode?(2)Is there different applicability of blended teaching mode among students of different English proficiency levels? After the one-semester following-up survey, based on the analysis and discussion of the data, the author concluded that English learners had a positive attitude to the blended teaching mode and the overall learning effect was good.Lower-level students made greater progress. The blended teaching mode is practical and effective for college English learning. Some corresponding pedagogical implications are given from the perspective of teachers and students. The study shows that blended teaching mode is one of the ways to improve the College English Education.
