To a certain extent,the quality of thesis can reflect the academic research ability and academic quality of the graduate students,and the problems of the thesis can be revised to enable the graduate students to further improve the quality of the thesis.The mechanism of other schools’ reviewers to review theses is used to evaluate the performance of theses of postgraduates in China,and the thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers become a key factor to evaluate the quality of theses.Through analyzing the thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers,we can find out the reviewers’ concern and the actual problems of theses,which is of great significance to improve the quality of theses.This thesis took the thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers of 255master’s degree theses of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages which in a university from 2015-2019 class as the research object.The author adopted content analysis method,with the use of word frequency statistics tool Rostcm 6,extract category tool SPSS 26.0,and text encoding tool Nvivo 12.0 to conduct the frequency statistics and analyze codes on all thesis evaluation forms,unqualified theses’ thesis evaluation forms and thesis evaluation forms which have large differences from other schools’ reviewers respectively.Through analyzing the contents of the thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers,we summarize the reviewers’ concerns about the master’s degree theses of our major,the problems of the master’s degree theses,the reasons for the large differences in the evaluation of the master’s degree theses,and put forward suggestions to improve the quality of the theses of our major and improve the template of thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers.The main tasks and results are as follows:(1)This thesis analyzed all thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers,and found that the reviewers focus on three aspects of the master’s degree thesis in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages: whether the workload and scientific research ability meet the requirements of the evaluation index,whether the writing ability meets the writing standards for master’s degree thesis,and whether the selected topic is innovative,relevant and application value.(2)From unqualified theses’ thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers,we can found the following problems in our theses: whether the thesis can highlight the application value on the theoretical basis,whether the topic and literature review meet the review criteria,whether the research content is closely related to the practice of our major,and whether the research ability meets the standard.Based on the above problems,the author put forward suggestions for improving the quality of the master’s degree theses of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.(3)Analyzing thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers with large differences in evaluation,we can use the quality of the thesis to analyze the problems of the thesis evaluation forms.The reasons for the wide variation in evaluations are: different concerns of thesis evaluation forms,different levels of evaluation criteria controversial research questions,general and specific review perspectives.(4)The design template of thesis evaluation forms from other schools’ reviewers has some design problems.And this thesis proposed suggestions for improving the design template of thesis evaluation forms. |
