A Stylistic Study Of New Media Documentary

New media documentary is a documentary produced and marketed by online video platform.With unique network characteristics,new form and lively language,it adds new vitality to the development of documentary.However,most of the relevant studies are analyzed from the perspectives of communication and narratology,and the stylistic studies are relatively lacking.The style provides a reference for grammar research and is of great significance.Style is the result of the choice of language form under the restriction of context,in which the frequently used language form is solidified into the common expression of a particular style,with the expression characteristics of this style.Stylistic features are highlighted by contrast.Therefore,this paper takes the new media documentary as the research object,and takes String of Life as an example,and firstly transcribed and sorted out the corpus of commentary in the documentary,then analyzed the contextual characteristics of new media documentary by combining macro and micro,qualitative and quantitative,comparative and analysis methods,and investigated the language forms,rhetoric and multimodal symbols frequently used in the documentary.This paper finds that: in terms of pronunciation,the commentary of the documentary String of Life is characterized by the use of orthographic reading and a large number of rhotic accent,which endods the new media documentary with the characteristics of the integration of formality and popularity.Vocabulary,documentary String of Life frequently used elegant words and idioms,and high frequently use colloquial dialects and network buzzwords,also use large amounts of high interactive second person pronouns,as well as the unidirectional transmission service nearly refers to the demonstrative pronoun,which makes the new media documentary both classical and popularity,the characteristics of interactive and unidirectional;In terms of syntax,the documentary String of Life tends to use definite phrases,conversational interludes,"shi zi" sentences,declarative sentences and complex sentences to enhance the expressive effect.In terms of rhetoric,the documentary String of Life tends to use cross-style words and foreign words to enrich its expression.It uses symmetrical syllable combination and harmonious rhyme to construct the beauty of rhythm.At the same time,it uses metaphor and analogy to create humor,endowing new media documentary with artistic expression effect.Based on the above research findings,this paper argues that: New media documentaries tend to combine popular language with formal language,interactive language with unidirectional communication language,near distance language with distance language,artistic language with factual expression,which has the characteristics of integration style.This characteristic is formed by media,communicative distance,language form,essence and audience of documentary.
